This Cat Lives In A 5-Star Hotel — And Gets Room Service Every Night
Anyone who’s spent time with a cat before knows that all cats like to act like they live in a palace and have people waiting on them hand and foot. For this one lucky cat, though, that fantasy is actually a reality.
Meet Lilibet, a 5-year-old cat who lives at The Lanesborough, a five-star hotel which is widely known as one of London’s finest — and most expensive — places to stay. Lilibet moved into the hotel when she was still a kitten back in 2019, so she’s never known anything but a lavish lifestyle.
Lilibet likes spending her days doing what cats do best: lounging. She lounges in the hotel’s spacious windowsills, on one of its many plush beds and on its grand piano. Her favorite room is what’s known as the withdrawing room, a peaceful resting area reserved for distinguished guests.
According to The Lanesborough’s website, they “have a small team of cat-loving colleagues, known as the Cat Committee, who have kindly volunteered to look after Lilibet.”
One of the Cat Committee’s main jobs is making sure that Lilibet dines on the finest foods London has to offer. They create special, cat-friendly treats for her every day. She’s even tried caviar.
Each guest who passes through The Lanesborough can’t help but marvel at how well-suited Lilibet is to her hotel lifestyle.
“She knows her place in this fine hotel — it’s anywhere she likes,” one commenter wrote on Instagram.
“She needs a [pearl] collar and a crown,” another wrote.
In fact, despite everything the famous hotel has to offer, Lilibet is now one of the main reasons guests come to visit The Lanesborough. The hotel has leaned into it, even naming one of their signature cocktails after her.
“I really want to come see Lilibet … she’s one of our favorite kitties,” one commenter wrote on Instagram. “Of course, the hotel is gorgeous too!”
Lilibet’s popularity has inspired other hotels in The Lanesborough’s franchise to get their own hotel cats.
“She joins Burmese cat Socrate from Le Bristol Paris and Kléopatre from Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden,” The Lanesborough writes on their website.
But there’s no hotel cat quite like Lilibet. If you’re ever lucky enough to get to stay at The Lanesborough, be sure to be on the lookout for a fluffy cat getting in her daily dose of lounging.
